Birth and death certificates.  $25 for first copy, $5 for each additional copy.  Records go back to 1912 (not every birth or death was recorded this early though); there are some earlier death records from 1891 which are indexed on this site.

Library does not have the staff to fulfill research requests.  Right now they do not have a web site, but the majority of the card catalogue is online with many other libraries around the state that are on the same system.

Extensive local and state history and records.  Newspapers on microfilm from 1837 and up.

Normal hours 9:30 am to 5pm.  Tuesdays & Thursdays 8am to 8pm.  Closed Wednesdays.

The Cemetery Division maintains three cemeteries in the City; Palmetto Cemetery, Greenwood Cemetery, and Oak Grove Cemetery. The Cemetery Office is located on Ross Rd. Lots may be purchased through the office from 8:00 am till 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. The Cemetery's are open from daylight to dusk seven days a week.
